Description
Can tracing an existing frame open up infinite creative possibilities? Rotoscoping is often regarded as a quick shortcut for animators, yet in reality it offers an exceptional degree of artistic freedom. This workshop with Valeria Cozzarini is aimed at young adults and focuses on the hands-on craft of filmmaking, with imperfection becoming a central element of the work.
Over the course of the workshop, participants will take apart a film sequence and completely reinterpret it using mixed media. Rotoscoping sits precisely at the intersection of live action and animation. Through a practical approach, participants will discover the appeal of combining deliberate creative choices with working directly on paper, where different materials can behave in ways that are often entirely unexpected.
