Stop Motion Walk

During the Stop Motion Walk, a larger-than-life bear figure on a bicycle will be brought to life frame by frame in front of Berlin’s Rotes Rathaus. The figure was designed and built by Berlin-based stop-motion animators Dina Velikovskaya and Sana Schönle of the Berlin animation studio TORP. Passers-by are invited to animate on site and actively help create the emerging stop-motion sequence. With this public event, we celebrate the art of handmade animation and the people who make it possible, while also drawing attention to the difficulties the animation community faces in securing funding.
