The beginning of a book is like a blank canvas – a departure into unfamiliar worlds, driven by curiosity about the unknown. Young French animation artists have taken this magical moment of first impressions as the starting point and inspiration for their visual experiments. Our exhibition presents eleven short films from the "Première Page" series, each inspired by the opening page of a very different literary work. The directors go far beyond mere illustration: they transform the printed word into vivid, dynamic cinema. Alongside the films, the original texts and background information on the works, personal statements by the artists offer insights into their creative process.
