Precisely. To the point.

Ever wanted to know how animation works – but had no idea where to start? Then Kotoon is the perfect point of contact for you. Kotoon, aka Koray Tokmak, is an animation artist, storyteller, and self-made creator. His animation videos on TikTok and Instagram tackle everyday life, family, “Almans,” and Frankfurt – all with a killer sense of timing and humour, and a style that’s unmistakably his. Maybe you already know his viral takes on "Spongebob", "Thomas the Tank Engine" (the hit series "Murat & His Brothers"), and other pop culture phenomena? In this workshop, Koray shares his experience so you can dive right in. What can animation achieve – and on which platforms? What do you need to get started (spoiler: a laptop is enough)? How does it work on a low or no budget? And who will watch all of this anyway? Koray will tackle these and other questions in a Q&A session – plus there’s feedback on your ideas. And who knows, maybe you’ll even create your very first clips during the workshop! For everyone aged 15 and up who’s ready to bring their ideas to life. No prior knowledge needed – no pressure, just curiosity and the joy of creating. A workshop in cooperation with the Deutsche Kinemathek.
