FAB Invited: Framebreakers 2025

Moving images can transport us into a state of rapture and send our minds on a journey. Sometimes they can even put us into a state of ecstasy. Students from the animation class at the Kassel Art Academy collaborated with us on a project to explore how such wonderful states of spiritual ecstasy can be created through cinematic means, and they transferred their findings to the curved screen in the form of their own cinematic interpretations. The result is a 360° film program for dome rooms, approximately 30 minutes in length, which approaches the theme of ecstasy from a wide variety of angles. From the tingling sensation in the stomach when dreaming of falling into the depths, to the illuminating enlightenment after long brooding, the joy of nonsense, a pleasant thrill, to the great mental fireworks triggered by physical connection. This is an invitation to enjoy a little while of rapture in the immersive envelopment of the dome.
