Animation for the ears

Blind and visually impaired people also enjoy going to the cinema. With audio descriptions, films become accessible to them. This workshop offers the opportunity to discover the world of audio films and help promote cultural inclusion: together, participants will develop an audio description for the animated short film ""Jeijay"" (2021, Germany, dir. Petra Stipetić & Maren Wiese). After an introduction to the basics of audio description, we will explore the specific challenges of the medium of animation, then we will start to write the script. This accessible version of the film will later be digitally produced and made available. A workshop in cooperation with the Deutsche Kinemathek. Interested?
