75 Years Maison de France
Vernissage with Julie Stephen Chheng

Description
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Maison de France, from April to June 2025, the artist Julie Stephen Chheng will take the public on a graphic and playful adventure through nature and its imaginary worlds, a large-scale project that will occupy almost all the rooms of the Maison de France. With the projects Uramado, Fortune Teller and Paysages en construction, visitors can rediscover the spaces of the Maison de France through the lens of contemporary art and the artist's dreamy universes, which include illustration, paper, augmented reality and interactive projections. This immersive experience brings together recent projects and research on paper and digital media. The viewer is invited to discover the spirits of nature through dialogues that reveal parallels between humans and the environment and question the juxtaposition of man and nature. Julie Stephen Chheng plays with words and images, exploring different forms of storytelling - from augmented reality and projections to paper design and book art. Her work blurs the boundaries between reality and fantasy, developing narrative structures that incorporate body movement, audience choice and everyday spaces. She has been working with long-time collaborators for over a decade: Thomas Pons, her creative duo and animation filmmaker, Studio Volumique with Julien Hognon and Étienne Mineur, who develop interactive applications, and Rémi Sauzedde aka Apollo Noir, musician.
